Mini Biography :
Melissa "Missy" Crider was born in Columbia, South Carolina and
raised in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She was named the Young Entertainer
of the Year at the Ozark Mountain Music Awards and landed a New York
talent agent at the age of 13. As a teenager, she sang country music
on stage in Branson, Missouri, and acted in the miniseries "Lonesome
Dove" (1989) (mini). She moved to Los Angeles in 1993 and was soon
cast in the TV movie Jane's House (1994) (TV). In 1994 she earned
an Emmy Award nomination for her leading role in another TV movie
Love in the Dark Ages. Her first feature, Boy Called Hate, A (1995),
won the Grand Jury prize at the Berlin Film Festival in 1997. Her
guest appearance in the TV series "Strange World" (1999) caught the
eye of Steven Spielberg, and he cast her in the new TV series The
Others.
